Energizing or energy-draining physical activity?

Since energy cannot be reserved for later, we need to learn how to manage it daily. Not all physical activities are equivalent in terms of energy expended and associated health benefits. So here are the differences between energizing and energy-consuming activities:

A high-energy activity is one that increases your energy level and gives you a feeling of well-being. Energizing physical activities are generally of low intensity and long duration, such as walking, yoga, swimming or cycling. They are excellent for improving your physical condition, boosting your immune system, and reducing stress.

On the other hand, an energy-intensive activity is one that requires a lot of energy and can tire you out quickly. Energy-intensive physical activities are generally of high intensity and short duration, such as running (sprinting), skipping, kickboxing, weightlifting or hockey. These activities are excellent for burning calories, improving your endurance, and strengthening your muscles.

In general, it’s advisable to combine high-energy and energy-consuming activities to achieve an optimum balance between health benefits and energy levels. It’s also important to choose activities that you enjoy and that suit your energy level.

During an activity, identify what you see, smell, hear, touch or taste. . It’s normal for thoughts and emotions to arise, so welcome them and refocus on your senses. Allow yourself to be fully aware. . For example, when I go for a walk, I stop to close my eyes and hear the birds singing, feel the wind on my skin, and feel the warmth of the sun.

One more thing: don’t forget that rest is crucial after physical activity. It allows your body to recover and regenerate. After physical effort, your muscles need time to repair and develop.
