The year is almost over, and what a year it has been for Olympe – its 40th, no less! Time for the customary look back at 2024, an Olympic year, by the way.
While our year was marked by a few surprises and plenty of accomplishments, it also represents an important milestone for Olympe for, as we’ve already mentioned, it was our organization’s 40th anniversary. And as you read on, you’ll realize that, like good wine, our not-so-small business only gets better with age.
Going the extra mile for worthy causes
- In May, many of our Olympians put on their running shoes and hit the track to participate in the Dix de Coeur, a yearly activity that raises funds for Cardi-O-Forme, and organization dedicated to the prevention of chronic diseases through physical activity (see a connection?). The whole team was so motivated by the event that next year’s edition will be called the “Dix de Coeur propulsé par Olympe” and our very own general manager, William Audet, will be one of the event’s ambassadors.
- Still in May, two teams of cyclists bearing Olympe’s logo and colors saddled up and rode their bikes through Montérégie during the Défi Cyclo-Myélome in support of a cause that is very dear to every past and present member of the Olympe family.
An “Olymp-epic” growth
New bids, new mandates
This year, Olympe responded to more than a dozen calls for tenders and was thus awarded major contracts for the management of workplace fitness centres as well as for various ergonomics, mental health, health and wellness, occupational safety and graphic design mandates. In addition to highlighting Olympe’s unique expertise, these new opportunities further reinforce our strategic position as a leader on the market.
Ouvertures de centres
We inaugurated seven new fitness centres in Quebec this year. This brings to 75 the number of centres benefitting from Olympe’s expertise and services. This also means that each week, about 1,000 people get their workout without leaving their workplace by participating in our group classes.
A centre on the 39th floor
After three years of work and effort, we celebrated the grand opening of the new Health Centre installed on the 39th floor of the National Bank of Canada’s new head office in Montréal. Our sincere thanks to National Bank for entrusting Olympe with exceptional project!
Mental health & ergonomics
Our mental health and ergonomics departments have also taken a lot of expansion this year, with numerous new mandates from organizations all over Quebec.
Our family is growing too!
To keep up with this impressive growth, Olympe ran multiple large-scale recruiting campaigns that allowed us to hire plenty of new talents and thus strengthen our expertise.
A mid-life crisis?
Most certainly not! That said, though, Olympe did make an important change this year. Indeed, after more than 20 years at the World Trade Centre Montreal, we moved our metropolitan office to a new location in our client Québecor’s building. Our office now occupies an open-type floor space that favors cooperative work while offering a breathtaking view of Montreal’s Square Victoria.
Ready for another exciting year!
After a year like this one, the whole team is psyched up for 2025 and we are all impatient to discover what it has in store for us.
Speaking of the team, we couldn’t conclude this text without a few words to acknowledge the outstanding work and dedication of our 45 or so regular employees and our 40-something group class instructors who, together, form the extraordinary Olympe family.
Thank you all for your essential contribution to Olympe’s success!
